Ciranova Maintenance Oil Matt re-nourishes an oiled timber floor and brings a tired, dull surface back to life. It feeds fresh oil into the timber — no sanding, no recoat — and leaves a natural, clear matt look with no gloss and no colour change. It’s for oiled and UV-oiled floors only.

This oil is made to soak into an oiled or UV-oiled floor. On a lacquered, sealed, varnished or waxed floor it can’t penetrate or bond — it just sits on top and won’t hold. If you’re not sure what finish your floor has, test a small, out-of-the-way patch and let it dry before you do the whole floor.
Re-oiling feeds the surface and lifts a dull, dry-looking floor — far quicker and cheaper than a full sand and recoat.
An oiled floor loses its oil as it wears, and starts to look dull, dry and patchy. Ciranova Maintenance Oil Matt feeds fresh oil back into the timber so the floor looks cared-for again — without sanding it back or laying a new finish.
It leaves a natural, clear matt finish — no gloss and no colour change — and suits engineered oak and other floors finished with a penetrating oil or UV-oil. For everyday washing in between, use Ciranova Floor Soap; if a floor is badly soiled, clean it back with Ciranova Intensive Cleaner first.
One litre covers roughly 40 to 60 square metres, depending on how worn and thirsty the timber is. Most rooms take a single thin coat, so a bottle sees you through more than one refresh.
Touch-dries in about four hours. Leave it 12 hours before you walk on the floor, and keep water and cleaning off it for 48 hours while the oil cures.
Always test the colour on a small, out-of-the-way area first — the final look depends on the timber, the sanding and how much you apply.
Clean it back, re-oil, and keep it washed — the routine Ciranova recommends for an oiled floor.
This is a solvent-based oil, so it’s flammable — work in a well-ventilated room, away from open flame, heat and other ignition sources, and don’t smoke while you use it. Cloths and pads soaked in the oil can heat up on their own and catch fire: lay them out flat to dry outdoors, or soak them in water, before you throw them away.
