Hard Floor Fresh is the routine cleaner for lacquered and varnished timber floors. It is not a deep cleaner or a polish stripper — reach for Ciranova Hard Floor Cleaner when a floor needs that. Keep it off oiled or waxed floors, and test a small area first if you are unsure of the finish.
Routine care for a lacquered floor
This is the cleaner for regular upkeep — the one you reach for weekly to keep a lacquered or varnished floor looking cared-for between deeper cleans.
It is made to work with waterborne finishes, including Ciranova’s Fortico, Ecofix and Oculto. Dilute it in lukewarm water, damp-mop, and let the floor air-dry. In its original, unopened packaging it keeps for about 12 months.
Dilute, damp-mop, done
- Add Hard Floor Fresh to a bucket of lukewarm water — about 10 capfuls to 10 litres.
- Damp-mop with a well-wrung mop or microfibre cloth so the floor is barely wet, never flooded.
- Rinse and wring the mop as you go; let the floor air-dry without a final rinse.
- Works with a Bona Spray Mop for quick routine cleans.
The dilution is measured by capful — check the current Ciranova label for the exact cap measure before mixing a large batch.

Keeping it looking its best

- Don’t use it on oiled or waxed floors.
- Don’t expect it to strip old polish — that is the Hard Floor Cleaner’s job.

Prepare the cleaning solution by combining 10 caps of Hard Floor Fresh with every 10 liters of lukewarm water. Utilise a thoroughly wrung-out mop or a microfiber cloth to clean the floor surface. Ensure periodic rinsing and effective wringing of the mop or cloth during the cleaning process. Take care to prevent excessive moisture on wooden surfaces. Allow the floor to air dry naturally, refraining from additional rinsing.
