Ciranova Floor Soap is a maintenance soap for oiled and waxed wood floors — it cleans while leaving a thin nourishing film. That film is wrong for a lacquered or varnished floor, so keep it to oiled and waxed floors. Test a small area first if you are not sure of the finish.
Cleans and nourishes an oiled floor
Oiled and waxed floors need a cleaner that works with the finish, not against it. Floor Soap cleans off everyday dirt without stripping the oil, and Ciranova says its oil-and-wax formula leaves a thin film that helps the floor shed water.
It suits all oiled wood floors, parquet and engineered timber included, and works with a traditional or spray mop. If you use a spray mop, keep the mix well shaken and clean the mechanism now and then — the wax can clog it if the solution sits. It is not for lacquered floors.
Shake, dilute, mop along the grain
- Shake the bottle well so the wax mixes evenly.
- Mix 4 to 5 capfuls into 10 litres of water.
- Mop along the grain with a traditional or spray mop.
- If you use a spray mop, keep the solution well mixed and clean the spray mechanism now and then — the wax can clog it if left standing.
Floors dry in about an hour. Keep the spray-mop mechanism clean so the wax doesn’t clog it.

Keeping an oiled floor nourished
- Shake the bottle so the wax stays mixed.
- Mop along the grain.
- Clean the spray-mop mechanism now and then to stop the wax clogging it.
- Don’t use it on lacquered or varnished floors.
- Don’t leave the mixed solution standing in a spray mop.
- Don’t over-wet the floor.
