Textured OakBrushed and worked oak — grain you can feel

“A surface you read with your fingertips.”

Textured oak is about the surface, not the colour. The face of the board is brushed or worked so the grain stands proud — you read the timber with your fingertips as much as your eyes. It is the opposite of a flat, uniform floor.

From a light brush to a heavy, hand-worked face. A light brushing opens the grain just enough to give the floor some life underfoot. A heavier texture pulls out the soft grain and leaves a deeper, more rustic surface with real movement across the board. Both keep the natural character of European oak on show.

A floor that suits a relaxed, lived-in room. A textured surface reads as warm and honest rather than showroom-perfect, and it sits comfortably in a busy family home or a pared-back, quiet interior alike. Paired with an oiled or a matte finish, the grain stays open and tactile.

What a textured floor gives you

Three things you get from a worked surface, whichever tone you choose.

Grain you can feelBrushing raises the grain so the surface has real texture underfoot, not a flat sheet.
Natural characterKnots, movement and colour variation stay on show — the look of timber, not a print.
Light to heavyFrom a subtle brush through to a deep, hand-worked face — you choose how much texture you want.

Oak floors with surface detail, depth, and natural character

Textured oak flooring is defined by its surface treatment, where brushing, ageing, or other techniques bring out the grain and natural variation of the timber. The result is a floor with depth and tactility, suited to interiors where material honesty and character matter.

Our textured oak range includes engineered European oak floors in a variety of tones, grades, and finishes. Each option uses an engineered construction for a stable floor in New Zealand homes, whether used in residential or light commercial settings.

Timber is a natural material: variation in colour, tone, grain and texture between boards — and against samples and on-screen images — is normal and to be expected.
