Patina Ochre — Rustic Engineered Oak Flooring
Patina Ochre is the golden one — a warm, honeyed oak with a russet, sun-touched depth, the colour of the oldest earth pigment there is. The heavy brush works light and shadow into the grain, so the tone shifts from board to board and the floor never reads flat.
Patina is oak left honest. Wide boards, 240mm across and 2.2 metres long, with the knots, the grain and the natural colour movement all still in them. It’s finished to wear in rather than wear out — a hard-wearing UV oil that soaks into the timber rather than sitting on top, so the grain stays open and the floor still feels like wood underfoot. When a patch tires, it’s maintained by re-oiling in place rather than sanded back.
It’s an engineered board — a 4mm European oak wear layer over a stable 15mm core (15/4), engineered overseas to Vienna Woods’ specification. Engineered boards are more dimensionally stable than solid timber, so they cope better with New Zealand’s humidity swings. Every pack is milled predominantly in long lengths, with only a small proportion of shorter (nested) boards, so you’re laying long, calm boards rather than a floor full of offcuts. See the Specification tab for the full board detail.

As a natural timber product, some variation in colour, tone and grain between boards — and against samples and on-screen images — is normal and to be expected.
