Foundation is our European-made oak collection. One idea done properly: a genuinely European floor (European oak, milled and finished in Europe) at a price that does not ask you to choose between origin and budget. Every board is a 14mm engineered build with a 3mm European oak wear layer over a birch core, so the surface is real oak and the base stays flat.
Fixed-length planks, no short boards. Most engineered floors arrive as a mix of long and short lengths. Foundation is milled to a single length, 200mm wide and 2200mm long, so the floor lays cleaner, with fewer end-joints and a more even, considered look across a room. It is the detail an installer notices and a finished floor quietly shows.
An air-dried, natural-feel lacquer. The finish is a specialised air-dried lacquer, soft, matt and close to the touch of raw timber, not a plastic sheen. Foundation sits at the accessible end of the range without feeling like it: European quality on a long, fixed-length board, laid glue-down and held in stock.

Five colours, from near-white through warm blonds to soft grey. We price by format, not by colour. Order a sample and see the grain and tone in the room it is going in.
One format, milled long
There is no format menu to specify. Foundation comes as a single wide plank, made to one length, a long, wide, European-made oak board.
