Keep white oiled floors looking white

Ciranova Maintenance Oil White keeps a white or limed oiled floor looking white as it wears. It feeds fresh white-tinted oil back into the timber — no sanding, no recoat — so pale, Scandinavian-style floors hold their light look. It’s for oiled and UV-oiled floors only.

For oiled floors only — never on a lacquered or sealed floor

This oil is made to soak into an oiled or UV-oiled floor. On a lacquered, sealed, varnished or waxed floor it can’t penetrate or bond — it just sits on top and won’t hold. If you’re not sure what finish your floor has, test a small, out-of-the-way patch and let it dry before you do the whole floor.

What it’s for

Keeps a white-oiled floor looking white

Pale and white-oiled floors lose their brightness as the oil wears, and start to look grey and tired. Ciranova Maintenance Oil White feeds fresh white-tinted oil back into the surface so the floor holds its light, contemporary look — without sanding it back or recoating.

It’s for floors finished with a penetrating oil or UV-oil — not lacquered, sealed or waxed floors. Because it carries a white tint, always test it on an out-of-the-way patch first; the final shade depends on the timber, the sanding and how much you apply.

How to use

Clean it back, oil it thin, buff it dry

  1. Clean the floor first — lift soap residue and grime with Ciranova Intensive Cleaner, rinse with water, and let it dry so the surface is clean and dust-free.
  2. Apply a thin, even layer of the white oil and leave it to settle for a few minutes.
  3. Rub or buff it dry with a white pad, working it into the timber. On smaller areas, wipe it on with a lint-free cloth and take off any excess.
  4. Leave the floor 12 hours before walking on it, and keep water and cleaning off it for 48 hours while the oil hardens.

Test the white tint on a small, out-of-the-way area first — the final shade depends on the timber, the sanding and how much you apply.

When to reach for it

Reach for it when

  • A white or limed oiled floor is losing its brightness.
  • You want to keep pale floors looking white as the oil wears.
  • You’re maintaining a white-oiled floor without sanding it back.
Aftercare

Getting the best from it

Do

  • Vacuum and clean the floor back before you re-oil.
  • Apply it thin — a heavy coat stays tacky and won’t dry.
  • Buff off all the excess with a white pad or lint-free cloth.
  • Test the white tint on a hidden patch first.
Don’t

  • Don’t use it on a lacquered, sealed, varnished or waxed floor — it won’t bond.
  • Don’t walk on the floor for 12 hours, or wet-clean it for 48.
  • Don’t bin oily cloths dry — soak them in water first (see safety below).

Technical Data Sheet

This is a solvent-based oil, so it’s flammable — work in a well-ventilated room, away from open flame, heat and other ignition sources, and don’t smoke while you use it. Cloths and pads soaked in the oil can heat up on their own and catch fire: lay them out flat to dry outdoors, or soak them in water, before you throw them away. Read the Ciranova safety data sheet before use.
