This is the lacquered-floor kit

The cartridge in this kit is Bona cleaner for lacquered, sealed and PU-finished floors. For an oiled or waxed floor you need the Bona Spray Mop Kit for oiled floors instead — the wrong cleaner can dull a lacquered floor or leave an oiled one patchy. If you’re not sure which finish you have, ask us before you order, and always test on a small out-of-the-way patch first.

What it’s for

Made for lacquered and sealed floors

Most engineered and pre-finished timber floors are lacquered or sealed — a hard clear finish sits on top of the timber. This kit is built for that finish: the cleaner lifts dust, dirt and grime without dulling the coating or leaving a film.

The cartridge holds Bona’s water-based, pH-neutral cleaner. It dries fast and leaves no streaks or sticky residue, so you can walk on the floor straight after. It also suits sealed cork and laminate.

Bona certification

GREENGUARD GOLD certified for indoor air quality

Bona states its wood floor cleaner is GREENGUARD GOLD certified for low chemical emissions indoors. That’s Bona’s own third-party certification, shown here as manufacturer information — ask us for the current certificate.

How to use

Spray, mop, done

  1. Sweep or vacuum loose grit first — grit is what scratches a floor.
  2. Fit the microfibre pad and click the cartridge into the mop.
  3. Pull the trigger to spray a fine mist ahead of you, then mop with the grain.
  4. Wash the pad when it’s dirty and reuse it — no need for a fresh one each time.
When to reach for it

Reach for it when

  • Regular cleaning of a lacquered or sealed timber floor.
  • You want a quick clean with no bucket and no mixing.
  • You’ve got engineered oak, pre-finished boards, cork or laminate with a sealed finish.
Aftercare

Keeping it looking its best

Do

  • Sweep or vacuum grit before you mop — grit scratches.
  • Spray a light mist; a damp clean beats a wet one.
  • Wash and reuse the pad, and let it dry between cleans.
Don’t

  • Don’t use it on an oiled or waxed floor — that’s the oiled kit.
  • Don’t flood the floor or leave standing water on the boards.
  • Don’t use wax, polish or a steam mop on a lacquered floor.
