Refresh a white-oiled floor with a soft white tint
This is the white-tinted version of Admonter Maintenance Oil. It does the same job as the natural oil — soaks into an oiled floor and tops up the worn oil — but carries a white pigment to freshen the light, limed colour of a white-oiled floor. One litre covers roughly 70 to 100 square metres. It’s for oiled floors only, never lacquered.

Like the natural oil, this only works on a floor that’s already oiled, where it can soak in. It won’t bond to a lacquered, varnished or waxed floor. Use it on white or light oiled floors — the white tint is made to suit them; on a dark floor it can lighten the colour. If you’re not sure of your finish, test a small, hidden area first.
Keeps a white-oiled floor light
White-oiled floors look their best when the light tone stays even. As the oil wears, the colour can start to look patchy and warm up. This tops the oil back up and carries a white pigment to keep the limed look fresh.
It’s a maintenance oil, not a one-off fix — for routine care of a sound white-oiled floor. Coverage is roughly 70 to 100 square metres a litre.
Clean first, then oil
- Clean the floor with an intensive cleaner and let it dry fully — the oil needs clean, bare timber to soak into.
- Open windows and keep the room well ventilated. Shake the tin well so the white pigment is mixed through.
- Spread a thin, even coat with the grain — a buffing machine gives the most even result on a larger floor.
- Buff off the excess and let it cure before you walk on it (follow the tin for the time).
- Lay oil-soaked cloths and pads out flat to dry outdoors, or soak them in water before disposal — see the safety note below.
Coverage (~70–100 m²/L) is a guide — a dry, thirsty floor takes more.

Keeping it looking its best
- Shake well so the white pigment is mixed through.
- Clean and fully dry the floor first.
- Apply thin and buff off the excess.
- Keep the room ventilated and dry oily rags flat outdoors.
- Don’t use it on lacquered, varnished or waxed floors.
- Don’t use it on natural or dark floors — the tint can lighten them.
- Don’t apply it thick — it won’t soak in.
- Don’t bin oily rags in a pile (fire risk — see safety).

Admonter Maintenance Oil is a solvent-based product. Keep the room well ventilated while you work and follow the safety directions on the tin and the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet. Important: cloths, pads and mops soaked with this oil can heat up and catch fire on their own as the oil dries. Lay them out flat to dry outdoors, away from anything that can burn, or soak them in water before you throw them away — never leave them screwed up in a pile or a bin.
