This beautiful new home on Auckland’s North Shore is designed with Nordic flair by MCooper Architects and Yellowfox interiors, using premium materials throughout including larch cladding and Oak Porcelain flooring from Baltic Wood.

Oak Porcelain is fortified and finished with a lightly tinted OSMO oil, which retains the natural tone of oak but reduces the strong golden tones that are a feature of some ‘natural’ oak floors.

This new home on Auckland’s North Shore features oak porcelain from Baltic Wood throughout the living areas.

A subtle tint in the oil finish highlights the intrinsic beauty of European oak, providing a natural foundation for the interior.

Oak porcelain features a subtle micro-bevel on the board edge to define each floorboard and highlight the board width. The rustic grade of oak features dark knot filler in open knots, while the brushed texture adds a 3-dimensional surface and extra character to the interior.

Smoked Oak for Nordic Inspired New Build

This stunning Scandinavian inspired MCooper Architect designed home on Auckland’s North Shore features Admonter oak lapis engineered wood flooring.

Interior designers Yellowfox chose a sophisticated, moody theme for the interior with dark kitchen cabinetry and black ECC light fittings to complement the lightly smoked flooring. High-end staging from Exhibit One completes the design-focused interior.

The developer and designer chose Admonter oak lapis as they wanted a beautiful premium quality floor to help realise the inspiring atmosphere they were aiming for. The is the perfect example of how oak lapis complements a modern interior, however this flooring works equally well in historic villas and bungalows, loft spaces, apartments, retail and offices.

Volunta Oak Castle Grey – St. Heliers

Castle Grey smoked oak flooring is featured throughout this beautiful home renovation in the suburb of St. Heliers.

Featuring 220mm wide boards and generous lengths up to 2400mm, Oak Castle Grey provides a warm, rich colour tone with subtle pale grey highlight in the wood grain.

The rustic grade of oak features dark filler in open knots. The floor surface has been refined and fortified with a UV oil finish, which provides a higher level of protection compared to natural oil finishes and requires less maintenance.

Admonter Walnut Rustic – Point Chevalier

Admonter engineered walnut flooring brings a warm, luxurious ambiance to this design-focused home, by Architecture Smith + Scully.

The walnut was specified in a rustic grade, complete with knots and filled cracks. This character-filled walnut is finished with a natural oil, as the client wanted the floor to look as natural as possible.

Admonter walnut flooring is featured throughout the main living area, kitchen, entry and hall as well as the upper hall area. Solid walnut treads and walnut cabinetry complete the trifecta of beautiful walnut elements.

Esta Oak Ebony – St. Heliers

This dark Ebony stained oak flooring from ESTA Parket creates a bold statement in this new home in the seaside suburb of St. Heliers.

Contrasting dark and white kitchen cabinetry complements this stylish and popular European oak flooring.

The floor board’s brushed texture adds a 3-dimensional surface and extra character to the interior, while the square edge floorboards provide a subtle board edge – mimicking the look of solid oak flooring.

This flooring is finished with a very durable German-made Klumpp matt lacquer.
