Frida is a warm, honeyed oak, developed with Auckland designer Lesley Bros as part of our Icons Collection. Named for Frida Kahlo, it carries depth and character without heaviness — a confident, restrained backdrop built for lived-in, everyday homes.
Lesley Bros founded Lesley Bros Interiors and was a 2024 HOME Magazine Interior of the Year finalist. She works in warm, family-friendly interiors, and she shaped Frida to match — earthy, resilient, refined. Together we looked at how oak’s natural tones can hold both energy and calm.
A floor that supports a busy home
Frida is crafted from European oak and finished with a super-matt lacquer — a durable, low-sheen surface with a soft, tactile feel. Wide 220mm boards, up to 2.2m long, give a seamless, flowing floor. The feature grade lets gentle knots show, filled in complementary tones so the calm palette stays intact.
A heavier brushed surface brings out the grain and adds movement to each plank — warm and expressive, but balanced and grounded. It reads well in both contemporary and character-filled interiors, from quiet evenings to full family gatherings.
About Lesley Bros
Based in Glendowie, Auckland, Lesley pairs strong technical training — a diploma in Spatial Design and hands-on drapery experience — with an intuitive eye for warm colour. Her services run from full interiors to bathroom design, colour consultancy, furniture sourcing and window treatments. A 2024 HOME Magazine Interior of the Year finalist, she guides busy families to spaces that are beautiful and genuinely practical. One Houzz reviewer, led through the overwhelm of a renovation, called her “a godsend”.
A toolkit for the drawing set
Specifying from the Icons Collection means starting with a material already shaped by one of your peers — a shortcut to better outcomes and easier conversations with clients. And because the technical documentation specifiers ask for — Building Code statements, test reports and certification currency — is published at our resources page, with the ranges each report covers stated plainly, there’s no compromise between compliance and creativity.

A Vienna Woods Collection
As a natural timber product, some variation in colour, tone and grain between boards — and against samples and on-screen images — is normal and to be expected.
